Seven Areas Where Coating Applications Have Produced Surprising Products

By Paul Moore

Time has introduced better and cheap options of ensuring that products function for a long time than they previously could alone. The same technology that adds durability has been connected to adding aesthetics and which has been made possible by the numerous Coating applications. There are a number of areas where this type of technology can be applied, and this will depend on what an individual wants to achieve. Below are applications of these solutions that an individual can undertake to install for industrial or home purposes with credible results.

An application of the coating is seen in the painting of surfaces in buildings. The kind of paints that were used some time back had the issue of peeling off and hence become less effective after some time. This system has however changed this as the ones that are currently used have the advantage of sticking for a very long time since they are adhesive and also ensure the beauty of a surface.

Another area where these has been applied is in the making of parts of autos and motorcycles. Industries have realized that using some of the metals would be expensive and others may get spoiled within a very short time. To overcome this problem, they have switched to the use of applying a coat of one type of metal over the other one such as steel achieving longevity and beauty.

Pipe making has also made use of this system. Pipes carry sensitive items including water, and most of those which are available may cause corrosion releasing harmful products such as lead into the fluids. The issue is however solved when a coat is applied over the pipe. It also happens on the outside for the purposes of preventing corrosion and rusting.

In addition, they have been implemented in the making of optical products. This comes in the form of reflective coatings found in mirrors where they function to ensure that minimal light enters the eyes. Apart from ensuring the enhancement of vision, they have additionally been proved to increase the useful life of lenses. The area mostly uses them for their anti-reflective properties apart from adding durability.

There has also been the use of this technique in making surfaces that are made of wood. Wood if left alone is subject to decaying very fast as a result of being affected by factors such as water. However, the seal that is implemented ensures that it does not spoil quickly and in fact adds to its beauty since most of them are bright and somehow shiny.

It is also implemented in the production of galvanized roofs. Roofs are among the parts of a house that are most likely to suffer from issues such as rusting and many more that happen as a result of adverse environmental conditions. Use of zinc coats have changed this as the final product that is made is one which is highly durable and eliminates the possibility of corrosion and is aesthetically pleasing.

Lastly, this has a great role in the making of utensils. Modern utensils are produced in such a way that instead of having them made out of one metal that would age quickly or another that could be expensive, a coat is applied over the weaker one. The popular solution to this is steel as it is effective in resisting rusting at the same time it is also beautiful. It is common to find this in spoons and pans.
